On October 20th 2025 we hosted an international NorPol / C-LaBL Workshop on child bilingualism. The event marked the end of the NorPol project – Bidirectional cross-linguistic effects of structural similarity in child multilingualism, which was funded under the ID-UB 173 International Research Team grant.
The workshop was opened by Prof. Dominika Skrzypek, the Vice-Dean for Research of the Faculty of Modern Languages and Literatures. Throughout the day, we had the pleasure of hearing from world-renowned experts in bilingualism and language attrition: Prof. Monika Schmid (University of York), Prof. Marit Westergaard (The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters / UiT The Arctic University of Norway), Prof. Cristina Flores (University of Minho), and Prof. Aldona Sopata (Adam Mickiewicz University).
Presentations were also given by members of the research team: Dr. Kamil Długosz (AMU), Prof. Natalia Mitrofanova (UiT The Arctic University of Norway), Dr. Serge Minor (UiT The Arctic University of Norway), and Dr. Oleksandra Hrebenshchykova (UiT The Arctic University of Norway).
The event drew a wide audience both in person and online, and concluded with a lively panel discussion with our invited guests – an excellent opportunity to discuss the outcomes of the NorPol project and to plan future research activities for Polish–Norwegian collaboration. Thank you to everyone who joined us!
